Pentimenti. New work by Misha and Amy Kligman
The Wooltex Gallery, Cleveland, Ohio. September 2007.

This work employs a vocabulary of association and archetypes derived from myth, the contemporary environment, and history: both personal and collective. Resulting are images that are externalizations of my own internal conversations and reactions to particular moods or situations. The narrative details are obscured with symbolism, pattern, and texture, creating a sort of emotional impression rather than a storyline or blunt, overt message. Reoccurring themes in my work are primarily social, the subject matter really revolving around connections and disconnections between people.
